Message from President Emily Gentile for the BCA of Boca Raton, and YARCOBR owner

Dear All
As most of you have heard, the city has paid over 400,000. $ to a developer to redesign the downtown. Mostly East Palmetto Park. The design will start at City Hall and work its way to East Palmetto Bridge. This is your opportunity to see some plans and decide how this will affect us on the barrier island and our communte west.
Rumors scattered around are:
Remove center medians and footage off of lanes going North and South on East Palmetto.
Extra footage will be used to enlarge bike lanes and extend sidewalks and restaurants for patrons to eat outside.
West end of E. Palmetto Bridge; remove one lane and have cars merge into one lane at 5th ave.
Put an emergency vehicle lane in the center for ambulance and police and to open it for evacuation.
The meeting with a presentation will be this coming Weds April 17, 2024
6-8 pm
Downtown Library
Expect a crowd.
Please show up and support the beach and A1A. Actually, this is the first time we have seen any plans for East Palmetto! Hopefully we can work with it!
Thank you,
President Emily Gentile for the BCA of Boca Raton, Highland Beach and Delray Beach
