During her campaign Commissioner Berschauer collected over $13,000 in donations from trail opponents who stood to benefit from cancelling development of the Yamhelas-Westsider Trail. Her first action as Commissioner was to ignore the voices of the vast majority of constituents and withdraw the county from the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) effectively killing the trail.
