- S-YXG2006LE Hybrid from Andre Louis. All-in-One Yamaha XG VSTi, S-YXG2006LE base, Mixed with S-YXG100PVL for VL & SG specials, with S-YXG50 Fallbacks & effect supports.
- S-MU2000 from tarboh. VSTi’d MU2000. No full pack yet! Use the ROM dumped yourself or archived by mdk.cab (Not linked here rn).
Now, if you have no idea who Andre Louis is, Andre archives old phone ringtones & some of the softwares used to debug and develop ones. He got other projects too. And today low and behold, this brand new preservation project for the famous Yamaha keyboard but VSTi. These projects here combine all the amazing features of every evolution of the Yamaha VSTi’s from the 100PVL, 50, and the 2006LE. With seamless MIDI mapping, so your MIDI can sounds like your Yamaha Keyboard from 2000s, complete with those VL realisms & SG singing voices pre-2k, BIZZARRE!! And not forget, with S-YXG50 Fallbacks for the voices missing in the S-YXG2006LE.
Which one to choose? Well, if unsure just pick my preferences, S-YXG2006LE one.
Note, of course, not a perfect mapping. Feel free to always send some Issue to the respective project Repo if you find some of your MIDI experience sounds wrong and should’ve gone up 2006LE or vice-versa.
Wait, what’s the 3rd one? Well, that’s the MU2000 emulation MAME in VSTi form. Unfortunately, unlike the 2 above, this one currently has no easy full pack. You gotta build this one up yourself, using the MU2000 ROM you got from your own dump, or best-likely, somewhere on the internet like archived by mdk.cap. Apologies for unable to link that sauce rn, we were afraid if we’d unexpectedly caused litigation to that site. Go ahead, type one and search there, it should be there. And, just plop that into the source code downloaded, and make. Idk. Maybe later.
Back in here. To download the full pack, you can see the Release description of one of which (the S-YXG100PVL Hybrid & S-XYG2006LE Hybrid respectively.). You should see the zip pack file sauce URL, hosted on his website back again. Once you’ve chosen whichever Andre Louis preservation VSTi pack, Download, Extract, go inside, and pay attention to `VST` folder. Your VSTi DLL Plugin is the `sxyg-*-hybrid.dll` file (so it’s `syxg100-hybrid.dll` & `sxyg2026-hybrid.dll` respectively).
These VSTi’s are VST version 2, 32-bit. You will need the correct VST Host that is 32-bit & capable of loading VST2 plugins. Btw, we advise that you avoid involving jbridge or possibly any kinds of architectural VST Bridge at the moment, because we found that it broke our XG Drum (Because the reset SysEx’s somehow failed to bridge which is required by those VSTi’s to know its default of that Reset), and only use true 32-bit executable VST Host capable program. For example, you can use Falcosoft’s Soundfont Player! Once prepared & started, simply open up top left menu, `Bass VST(i) Plugins`, & enable `VST Instrument` dialog (Shift + I). Load your chosen VSTi and enjoy your MIDI songs!
Andre Louis S-YXG Hybrid Preservation Fullpack also ships with demo songs sourced from various websites and archives. You can play these ones first to feel its power of combined power of Yamaha VSTi series. You also no longer need to 86Box & Windows 9x it, just to S-YXG100PVL, all is already done throughout this Preservation VSTi both the 100 & 2006LE, minus the proper UI of course. The UI is whatever exist, which is the S-YXG50 ones, because after that, Yamaha did not bother to.
To update, the pack also provide a cmd and ps1 file: Update Yamaha Hybrids.cmd / Update-Yamaha Hybrids.ps1. Just run in CMD / Powershell (Windows 11: Right Click, Open in Terminal) (Older: Shift + Right Click, Open Command Line Here) whichever once to update your preservation VSTi to the latest version.
More details in each Preservation repository above.
Giant shoutout once again to DTM-Hub from Telegram (Sorry cannot link chat group directly rn, go scroll down to find one there) for letting me know about this amazing project, JACKPOT!!! Merci Beaucoup (sorry for butchering, I'm Indonesian btw), you guys are cool and good amazing awesome!!! Also I like ponies yeah.
At last we got it. I wonder if anyone did that so for Roland SoundCanvas VSTi which couple years ago been discontinued. Seriously, eveyone’s been having nostalgia too there!
*: No Genos yet. Sorry. But feel free to find ways to reverse engineer those and combine those in. Lemme know!
Thancc for your attention
