First, I want to thank you guys for signing this petition. I have written multiple essays on this topic and you guys signing this petition really means a lot for me.
Second, I noticed a lot of you hating on wet markets in the comments, but I don't believe that is right. Wet markets are important to cultures all over the world, and banning them completely is sentencing people all over the world to malnutrition. Wet markets are an important part of many cultures, and this petition is not to ban them completely. Children who grow up close to wet markets are proven to have higher nutritional averages, showing that these markets are necessary and relied upon for many peoples' health. I understand that many people think all wet markets should be banned, but this would sentence people all across China and the world to malnutrition and even starvation.
All that said, thank you to everyone who has signed this petition. Please sign this petition not to ban all wet markets, but to make them safer for animals and humans alike.
