There are many versions of wrongful conviction out there, from misidentification, false confession, jailhouse informants, down to witnesses who recant after admitting that the police pressured them for their statements. Then there is the higher of these evils. The expert witnesses that are paid by the state to falsify documents and their testimony. This specific evil has already been proven in multiple cases dating back to 2011 of falsifying his testimony to convict innocent men of murders that never happened.
Dr. Michael McGee of Ramsey County MN has been proven in both state and federal court to provide inaccurate, misleading, unreliable, and false testimony. This medical examiner worked for Ramsey County making upwards of 800,000 a year to be the star witness in murder trials in which he was the ONLY evidence the state had. Exonerations, Vacated sentences, and thrown-out death penalty all from the proven fact that Dr. Michael McGee was committing perjury in many cases. Evan Zimmerman, Michael Hansen, Thomas Rhodes, Robert Kaiser, and Alfanso Rodrigeuz to name the ones who were publicized.
Now, with that background detail of those who made it public there lies the ones whose truth will never come to light. For they have died between the lies and the fight for freedom. With that being said be aware if there were only a few revealed, ask yourself how many still remain in the dark. BACKSTORY
On September 30 2008 Michael Sontoya woke up to wake up Gabriela so both could take their kids to school. Upon waking up he noticed Gabriela on the floor, so he attempted to wake her. Noticing her lack of response he called 911 at 643 am. The 911 operator guided him to do CPR for 3 mins as EMS were en route. Sadly, even after EMS had arrived and them doing a round of CPR they declared her DOA at 651am. After a complete inspection of her body, they deemed her death Cardiac Arrest. Considering both Michael and Gabriela were Hispanic there were more police called to the scene and speculations quickly grew.
Neighbors were spoken to and even testified to only hearing footsteps, a toilet flush, some water running and even seeing them arrive home laughing together outside around 1 am the evening prior. ABSOLUTELY NO NEIGHBOR HEARD ANY COMMOTION other than laughter. Keep in mind this was a Duplex, so these neighbors surrounded his unit. One thing that was constantly mentioned was that Gabriela was menstruating as blood was noticed in the bathroom garbage and she was wearing a pad. This is key to take note. Considering this was what was used to conspire the next set of events.
Gabriela was wearing a pair of panties and blue jeans that the EMS had to cut in order to get to her body. EMS, Police, and firefighters all testified to no blood on her body including her thighs and genitalia. With video and photographic evidence providing the same testimony as accurate. She was clean, and below her for 4 hours laid her jeans until Dr. Michael McGee would arrive on the scene to conspire what story he was about manufacture. Take note, Dr. Michael McGee also testified to no blood on her body, including her genitalia and thighs. This is very important to remember.
At 1230pm Gabriela's body arrived at Dr. Michael McGee's office and at this point, Michael Sontoya had been in an interrogation since 8 am with Sgt Scott Payne of the Saint Paul Police Department. However, also at 1230pm, Sgt Scott Payne had LEFT Michael Sontoya in the room and testified to being at the AUTOPSY at 1230pm. Photographic evidence would provide the proof that at 1230pm, nearly 6 hours later Gabriela was still on top of those jeans, with no blood on her body or genitalia.
Now this is also a critical detail, Sgt Scott Payne testified "WE eventually spread the legs open." To which a photo of Gabriela's rectum being spread apart with 2 different sets of hands proves in fact Sgt Scott Payne of Saint Paul PD was there and not only there but he laid hands on her body. When in fact Dr. Michael McGee signed the document that he was the only one handling her, photographing her, and in the room for the duration of the autopsy.
The next three photos would be the most damaging evidence of a manufactured murder case I have ever seen. A photo that was taken allegedly focused on Gabriela's legs, but this photo would reveal a dark almost black non clotted pool of blood seeping out between Gabriela's legs towards her knees. Remember Gabriela had no blood, on her body, on her thighs, or on those jeans for over 6 hours. She had been at the point of lividity in which all the blood from her body pooled to the lowest part, her rectum. Therefore, if someone had cut into that pooling blood, it would then leak out of that newly produced post-mortem (after death) wound.
That is exactly what happened as the next photo of her rectum would provide the gruesome fact that one of the two individuals who were at that autopsy had taken a sharp-edged instrument and inflicted over 7 incised wounds all around the rectum. Proceeding to then forcefully spread from opposite ends of her rectum to photograph these injuries. That no one else at the scene testified to being there. This photograph provides the details of post-mortem (after-death) injuries that lead to the other two photographs.
The next photograph would contain an unmeasured sharp-edge surgical incision into Gabriela's left thigh, producing the image of another horrific wound to Dr. Michael McGee's new story he was going to be paid to produce. Now I must remind you, there were testimonies, photographs of her body, and a video with NONE of the injuries on the exact same spots. Meaning before death she had NONE of these injuries. Now, of course, the prosecutor did not use the crime scene footage of her body, or photos of her body, but only used the 4 photos of the autopsy to produce a gruesome horrific death for the jury.
One problem, Doctors and Forensic Pathologists now all reveal the fact, that the incisions were all done with a surgical instrument, and all were done POST MORTEM (AFTER DEATH). With details of the lack of inflammation, no blood clotting around the injury, the precision of the wounds, the lack of bruising, no swelling, all staples in injuries that cause a dead or prior to death.
With that being noted I will mention the last photo and most damning of them all as this photo was used to produce a cause of death that never happened. Gabriela's uterus and vaginal canal had been extracted out of her body and an incised wound again with the same specifications as the others came to 9cm on the right side of her vaginal canal. Dr. Michael McGee had claimed to be caused by A FIST in her vaginal canal which allegedly exited her canal, entered her abdominal cavity, and hit her liver and spleen. Only one problem with that story, the "cause of death" injuries were all on the LEFT side, and the left side had no such injuries to it. Only the SURGICAL incision appeared on the right.
Now, let me remind you, all of these photos and autopsy were done with the help of Sgt Scott Payne. This is important as the next 40 mins of Michael's interrogation would become Sgt Scott Payne aware of these incised wounds, possibly assisting with the production of them now attacking in an attempt to cocerece Michael Sontoya to confess to injuries that he has absolutely no idea had happened. The only thing Michael Sontoya knew was his truth and that he did all he could to get help to her once he noticed she was unconscious.
Throughout the interrogation, Sgt Scott Payne keeps pressuring Michael about all these injuries that clearly with the evidence now prove that Michael did not do, and in fact was not the cause of her death. He only gives Michael two options First Degree Murder or Seconds Degree Murder. Michael could not handle any more attacks so he requested his lawyer and the interrogation ended with no confession and no admittance to the lies Sgt Scott Payne was trying to convince him were true. A true example of a manipulating officer.
With ONLY Dr. Micheal McGee's star witness testimony and no defense provided by Michael Sontoya's attorney. He was found guilty on both counts and he was sentenced to Life without Parole.
There was no other evidence that provided any other narrative of death other than cardiac arrest. NOT MURDER. However, that very same uterus photo may contain the only truth that we will never know. As Doctors and Forensic Pathologists agree they noticed was appears to be a ruptured right fallopian tube and a small 2cm sac in her pelvis. That's right, Gabriela may have been suffering from an ectopic pregnancy rupture that caused her heart to stop that morning. To her knowledge, she was only menstruating, to be made into a headline story of a sexual assault victim to the worst degree.
Which, in this case, she is a victim, of mutilation from Dr. Michael McGee which resulted in the wrongful conviction of Michael Sontoya.
Now, this is a lot to take in, so I will say it may be easier to rewatch or watch the youtube video above and ask me questions about the case.
I only am here to show the world just what Ramsey County Minnesota is hiding from the world. Just who Dr. Michael McGee was and is. What systematic racism occurred for them to take an innocent woman's body and violate her to produce a conviction based on a false narrative and feed that narrative to her family and a jury to put a Latino man away forever.
This is horrific and needs to be shared with the world. The truth WILL WIN. Michael NEEDS to be set free! Gabriela DESERVES peace. Dr. Michael McGee SHOULD get legal consequences.
