Lately, we have been witnessing, with heavy hearts, attempts to cross out the name of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois from the history of Ashtanga Yoga. It is especially painful to see the person, who can indeed be called without any exaggeration, the Father of the Tradition, being thrown under the bus; many of us owe our rebirth and who we've become to this tradtion. And as we all know, you don't get to choose your parents.

Without going into an assessment of what exactly Sri K. Pattabhi Jois is being accused of, we only strive towards remembering that he :

1. Upon having obtained the knowledge from his teacher Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, he spent decades in continual research and development of that knowledge, in order to deliver the method of Ashtanga Yoga to people, in the format as we know it.

2. Contributed to having that knowledge spread around the globe by teaching yoga to thousands of people.

3. Turned the city of Mysuru, India into one of the world's Yoga Centers, a place of pilgrimage, where Eastern culture meets the Western one.

We encourage all of you to sign this petition. Those of you, who continue to have affection towards Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and those who had undergone positive psychophysical changes due to his method and personally experienced its therapeutic effects. Those of you, who believe that searching for justice should not lead to injustice, whose hearts are magnanimous and open to fogiving the ones, who according to their opinion had commited mistakes. Those who honor their history regardless of what it might involve.

LET US DEFEND OUR RIGHT TO REMEMBERING GURUJI SRI K. PATTABHI JOIS!
