Ban Muroami & blastfishing to save our marine seabed ecosystem

Ban Muroami & blastfishing to save our marine seabed ecosystem
The Issue
Please, sign up for this petition to stop Muro-Ami and blast fishing to save the coral reefs of Southeastern Asia.(learn more about destructive fishing in WWF & Wikipedia & Slow Fish)
The Muro-Ami is a destructive fishing technique, employed on coral reefs in Southeast Asia, this technique uses an encircling net together with pounding devices. The pounding devices are repeatedly and violently lowered into the area, crushing the coral reef into fragments.
Dynamite or blast fishing is done easily and cheaply with dynamite or homemade bombs made from locally available materials. Fish are killed by the shock from the blast and are then skimmed from the surface or collected from the bottom. The explosions kill large numbers of fish and other marine organisms and can damage or destroy the physical environment.
Fishing methods like Muro-Ami and blast fishing have been around for centuries, and leaves an enormous amount of damage to aquatic habitats and ecosystems, making it nearly impossible to recover, but sadly it's still on the increase.
The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.
Please support this petition and save our coral reefs before it's too late.
