THEY SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT ALL THE TIME. Whatever your view on development and whatever your view on the Rail Bridge versus Rail Trench... Let’s discuss transparency and allowing all residents to have a say about what affects them most. If our council is not listening to us now, there will no doubt be future issues that you are passionate about where your opinion will not be sought or considered. The diagram is an excerpt from a document called ‘Rosanna Village, Level Crossing Removal, Urban Design Guidelines’. This 25 page document was voted into use by all councillors the night before council went into caretaker mode without any community consultation. It was commissioned in July. • This document has not been put into circulation with the public. • It is being used to “influence” the LXRA (Level Crossing Removal Authority). • Council are surreptitiously promoting the bridge option. HIGHLIGHTS 1. Hillside Rd is set to become a traffic thoroughfare to Turnham Ave – which opens up access through Station Rd direct to Rosanna Rd and creates potential for further ‘rat runs’ through Rosanna. 2. This encourages traffic away from our village on Lower Plenty Rd, towards the Woolworths site. 3. The plan includes extensive NEW development, “Preferred contemporary built form height of 3 to 4 storeys and HIGHER in key locations”. (Council approved developments in Heidelberg at DOUBLE the council implemented guidelines) 4. This and a Rail Bridge will set a height precedent for Rosanna that doesn’t currently exist. ALL BANYULE COUNCILLORS SOLD OUT ROSANNA TO WOOLWORTHS AND THEY WILL NOT HESITATE TO DO THE SAME TO YOU! THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY! VOTE COUNCIL OUT AND CLAIM YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD.
