Hello everyone, Your protest against plastic wrap in Coles and Woolworths has now been joined by the voices of over 370,000 other people! This has become one of the largest petitions ever run on Change.org. Unfortunately, this has still not been enough to get Woolworths to change their plastic policy, or even make an official response. We have delivered the petition to the supermarkets twice. We are still hearing crickets from Woolworths. To keep up the pressure, we are asking you all to send an email (find email text at the bottom of this update) directly to the supermarket rep for Woolworths: Adrian Cullen Head of Sustainability Woolworths Food Group Coles has now responded. Our aim is to fill up the Inboxes of the Woolworths supermarket rep with our protest, so they are forced to listen and respond. Thank you all for your ongoing support! Pat and Alex Copy the words below, and paste them into an email with the listed recipient. Hit Send. That’s it! Recipients: acullen@woolworths.com.au Dear Adrian, I am one of over 370,000 people asking you to stop wrapping our fruit and veggies in plastic. It is time for change. There are no reasons good enough for you to create tonnes of plastic waste every year. Most fresh produce doesn’t need to be wrapped. For the few items that do, there are plenty of environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic wrapping — recycled paper bags or bamboo amongst them. This is what we, your customers, want. Please listen to us. We look forward to your response.
