Thank you to all our supporters who signed this petition. We received over 108,000 signatures, and these were delivered to Coles and Woolworths. The two supermarket chains are left in no doubt that plastic wrap is unpopular with their customers.
As most of you will know, both supermarkets have said they are investigating alternatives to plastic for their packaging, and both tell us that they are using 'recyclable' plastic.
We believe they would do better to abandon unnecessary packaging altogether.
Unfortunately, two years after this petition was delivered, we walk into their shops and still see shelves and shelves of herbs, vegetables and fruit wrapped in plastic.
So we have launched this petition again.
If we fall silent now, it will be easy for them to forget about their promises for change.
To keep plastic wrapping on the agenda, share this petition, take photos of unnecessary plastic wrapping, and share on Coles’ and Woolworths’ social media sites, and stop buying products wrapped in plastic. If they’re not going to make money from it, they won’t supply it.

Keep saying NO to plastic! There are enough of us to force this change.
