Thank you for your continued support in the fight for gender equality in vehicle safety!​ Between now and May 9th, we must put the pressure on to call for an end to gender discrimination in crash testing standards. 

One simple action we suggested previously was to leave a formal comment on NHTSA's proposal for updating NCAP. While the proposal includes ways to improve the quality of testing for men, it does not propose any updates to improve crash testing for female body types. This oversight will widen the safety gap even further. 

The comment period closes on May 9th. We need you to submit a formal comment on the NCAP proposal following the steps below. We also have a toolkit with instructions and resources to help guide you though these steps: 

Step 1 - Go to this link and click the green comment box on the upper right side.  

Step 2 - Leave a brief comment asking NHTSA to require the equal use of female crash test dummies in all of the same crash tests as men in the NCAP 5-Star Safety Rating program.  

If you are a car crash survivor or a friend or family member of a crash victim, share your story in the comment. The personal touch can go a long way.

Step 3 - Ask people in your network to leave a comment.
