Poor Barney was initially sold to an inappropriate family. He then went to live with his current owners, however suffers extreme separation anxiety; often this occurs when puppies are taken from mum too early. This is Barney's story in his owner's words. We are the second owners of a dog originally bought at Lintons. The first owners were unable to cope with him as they had a child with specific needs. We have taken Barney on - a gorgeous Cockapoo - but with a few issues. He can't be left alone at all - he barks and cries, pants and defecates. During the day we have to make sure there's always someone around or the same thing happens.   He also had terrible diarrhoea when he first came to us which initially we thought was down to the upset of moving home, but the vet identified the cause of it was a bacteria found on farms. Fingers crossed - the right treatment seems to have sorted him out. It was this diagnosis that made us look into his background and when we found all the terrible stories about Lintons we realised poor old Barney was probably one of those puppy farm dogs. We would never have taken him on if we had known about his background but having got him he is the most loving, eager to please dog despite all his hang-ups. It's early days so we don't know if some of the other physical issues that many of these dogs seem to have will emerge.
