Stop selling inhumane "educational" trinkets on Wish

The Issue

"Wish" - who's parent company is ContextLogic INC - is the online shopping site and app that boasts over 100 million users as of 2017. You find incredible deals, below retail price, from small businesses and manufacturers who sell their products directly to you, many of which are based in China.

Sadly, my eye came across a trinket which boasted a real, red eared slider baby turtle " educational specimen" encased in lucite. Reading the description, they state they are from farmed turtles.

The shop is called "All from nature" and the horror show continued with more turtles, large spiders, Chinese water snakes and even bats.

Commercial turtle farming is already a large and inhumane business in China, with turtles being raised for food, medicine or as pets. There is a much larger issue here but we have to start somewhere.

It's clear that these creatures are not dying natural deaths but are instead being raised and killed to benefit this business and to turn a profit. I shudder to think how many of these turtles and bats and other animals might be suffering for these "scientific" trinkets.

In my eyes, and from the bottom of my heart, there is no place for this kind of product on Wish - an addictively fun company that is growing in popularity and has a chance to make a real impact in regards to supporting or rejecting animal cruelty.

PLEASE JOIN ME in asking them to REMOVE the "All From Nature" store from their app - as well as pledging not to use the Wish site or app until they do - so as not to encourage such flippant disregard for the lives of turtles, bats and other living creatures.

It's already a struggle to fight for the humane treatment of animals, but the tide is turning! Let's ask Wish to lead the way in refusing to profit off of animal cruelty, and in turn inspire other businesses to do so as well by removing "All From Nature" from their site and app!
