Thank you to everyone who has continuously supported us in our efforts to end mass incarceration, end harsh sentences imposed on teens and our ultimate goal of getting Seandell Jackson an opportunity for a fair sentence and a chance to reform and rejoin our society!
Green Bay Correctional Institution also remains a subject of debate in Wisconsin of whether to shut down the out-of-date facility or spend more money to renovate it. In February, Governor Evers of Wisconsin will release his budget plans for the Department of Justice and our voices were heard on behalf of Seandell and everyone incarcerated. We hope that his plans will unveil moving the incarcerated individuals to other facilities and shutting down Green Bay Correctional Institution, and hopefully the avoidance of building another maximum security prison, which would cost the tax payers of Wisconsin more money than it would to move the incarcerated people to other facilities and building a new medium security prison.
Please help us in continuing to support these great causes, Seandell sends his gratitude to everyone who has signed and shared this petition. We are working on starting a fund raiser for legal fees so that Seandell can get the proper motions filed in court to have his case reviewed.
Life without the possibility of parole for a teenager is way to harsh of a sentence and no teenager should have the key thrown away when reform and rehabilitation is a possibility! Incarcerated individuals like Seandell pose a very low recidivism rate and should be allowed a second chance. The mass incarceration of young men in our country is modern day slavery. There’s no need for 2.5 million people out of our own society to be locked up without options for reform and rehabilitation. Let’s change this! Help share this petition if you can, and a HUGE thank you to the individuals who have donated to support this cause!
