The Kohler Company continues to demand State owned land become a part of their proposed golf course. The Wisconsin DNR will need to do the following to allow Kohler to destroy our state land and public waterways: • Amend the Kohler-Andrae State Park master plan • Obtain National Park Service Land and Water Conservation Fund conversion(LAWCON) • Issue Wetland Permits to fill in large areas of wetlands • Issue Permit to draw water from Lake Michigan for irrigation • Allow Kohler to destroy rare species, including two listed federal species • Issue high capacity well permits • Allow Kohler to destroy Archeological and Historic resources • Issue “Special” permit to build a bridge over the Black River • Issue Dam permit • Issue Permit to connect artificial body of water with navigable waterway • Issue Permit for dredging in navigable waterway • Issue storm water permits The Kohler website proclaims the plumbing fixture firm's water conservation record, but building a fertilizer-demanding 18-hole golf course, plus a clubhouse, parking lot and an easement across a wetlands-rich nature and wildlife preserve - - and into a state park - - at the edge of Lake Michigan is quite the contradiction. Please continue to share this petition and let the DNR know they must deny the use of public State land for private profit.
