📢 URGENT UPDATE: Our Human Rights are Not for Sale!
Winnipeg, we are at a breaking point. While we fight to keep our heads above water, the City and Provincial governments continue to pile on costs that make living in Manitoba more unaffordable every day.

💧 Water is a Human Right, Not a Luxury
The City of Winnipeg continues to ignore the fact that water is a fundamental human right. According to United Nations standards, the cost of water and sewer services should not exceed 3% of a household's total income. Yet, with the current and proposed hikes, many Winnipeggers are being pushed well beyond this limit. This isn't just a "budget adjustment"—it is a violation of our basic right to affordable sanitation and clean water.

🛑 A Triple Threat: Hydro, Gas, and now... Tuition
As if the water bill wasn't enough, we are being squeezed from every side:

Manitoba Hydro & Gas: Recent rate increases of 4% (as of early 2026) are already draining our bank accounts.

Inflation vs. Wages: Prices at the grocery store and the pump are skyrocketing, while our wages stay stagnant.
🚨 NEW: The Attack on Students: The Provincial government has just authorized a 4% tuition fee increase—the highest cap in eight years. At a time when students are already struggling to choose between textbooks and groceries, this is absolutely unacceptable. We are pricing our youth out of their future.

🎯 Goal: 4,000 Signatures to Break into the Media
We are currently at 3,700 signatures. We need just 300 more to hit our first major target.

Once we hit 4,000, we will be sending this petition directly to every major media outlet in the province. We need to make enough noise that the Mayor and the Premier can no longer look the other way.
