On June 24th three veteran officers on the Wilmington Police force were fired for hate filled speech that was caught on a patrol car camera. The names of the officers were Micheal Kevin Piner, Jesse E. Moore II, and James B. Gilmore. Piner's words exactly were " We are just gonna go out and start slaughtering them f****** N*****. I can't wait god I can't wait". Moore followed with he would not do that then Piner stated "I'm ready". Piner continues with " the country needed a civil war to "wipe 'em off the f***** map. That'll put 'em back about four or five generation”. Moore followed with "your crazy". Gilmore and Piner also had a conversation about the black lives matter protest going on in Downtown, Wilmington and made racial comments about the current police chief who is an African American. 

The comments of the officers were not only a hate crime but they were also a threat of domestic terrorism that threatened the lives of all African Americans in Wilmington, North Carolina, which is a class C felony. Officers like this are the reasons why the black community is enraged, and will continue to be enraged until we are treated equally and systematic racism comes to an end. Charging these officers will show officers with similar tactics that there will be consequences for their actions that will hopefully force them out of the police force. We are also demanding that these officers be added to the National Desertification Index so they will never be able to work in the police force again.
