Unfortunately, a few people are deliberately telling lies about the Fleece Hotel.

As you know a convicted criminal and fraudster David McHugh from Warrington fraudulently obtained the lease of the Fleece Hotel.

A thief should not be able to keep the proceeds of his crime.

I have given a commitment to the town that I will do all I can to keep this building as safe as possible until it's brought back into use.

I have done this voluntarily for over two years. I don't have to do it but as a dedicated person who cares someone has had to take responsibility to keep the building safe.

I am pleased the owner has decided to upgrade the building himself which is going to cost several hundred thousand pounds and work will start in a few weeks time which is great news.

The journey with this pub has not been easy. A convicted criminal was allowed to reside in the pub for several years while he was committing his crimes which included stealing life savings off elderly pensioners.

You have to do what is right and I for one am pleased that justice caught up with this thieving conman.

I have demonstrated I am committed to the well being of Ashton.

I have attached a copy of my leaflet delivered to all households in Ashton ward.
