The following letter has been published in today's Wigan Evening Post :- "Dear Editor, I am writing regarding the planning application submitted by the Fleece Hotel, Warrington Rd, Ashton in Makerfield, to try and convert part of their premises into a nightclub. Unfortunately, the Fleece Hotel have already secured a 4.00/4.30 am license from Wigan Council. The local community have serious concerns about what has happened. With this in mind a meeting of concerned residents is to be held at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 23rd September at St Thomas' & St Luke's Church/Community Hall, Warrington Rd (opposite church grounds), Ashton in Makerfield. We have some important information which is extremely useful. We will be seeking views of concerned residents on how we should proceed. With grateful thanks to the Parish of St Thomas' & St Luke's Church who are making the hall available free of charge.
