The public display notices have today been erected on Warrington Rd. This means the consultation period now ends on the 30th Sept 2015 not the 19th Sept 2015. The Fleece is located within the Ashton Town Centre Conservation area. As a result a public notice will be in this weeks Wigan Reporter (free weekly dated 10th Sept). If you believe this proposed nightclub in this location detrimentally impacts on our Conservation Area the notice gives details of how to submit an objection. Parishioners of St Thomas' & St Luke's have been given details of the planning application. Residents are knocking on doors asking people to sign our petition. Please show your support. I have today hand delivered all written objections presented to me so far to Wigan Council. To date :- We are aware of a minimum of 34 formal objections. Petitions total to date - 389. The community needs your support. Wigan Council is now taking objections and must be received by 30th Sept. The issues are noise, no soundproofing, anti-social behaviour, lack of policing, location - residential area, nearby church and its grounds, dangerous road junction and too many licensed premises in a small area, unsuitability of building, intensive use of one building. Keep in mind the function room is rarely used. It is not currently used as part of the pub. Ashton Town Centre Conservation area. You can use one, any or all of the reasons or anything else you feel is appropriate. What is important is that you submit an objection no matter where you live. Objections can be made as follows :- Email to :- planningrepresentations@wigan.gov.uk or you can write a letter to :- Kevin Foster, Places Directorate, Economy and Skills, Wigan Council, PO Box 100, Wigan WN1 3DS You MUST quote the following details :- Application Number - A/15/81175/CU Location - The Fleece Hotel 9-11 Warrington Rd, Ashton in Makerfield WN4 9PL You must also give your name and address. If sending by email you can copy me in at - mouldingmichael@gmail.com I am happy to collect any written enveloped letters to hand deliver to Wigan Council to save postage. Everyone in a household can object but should be done separately as each objection counts. For any advice ring me 07593908699, 01942 538278 or email mouldingmichael@gmail.com This has to be one of the most inconsiderate proposals ever attempted in Ashton. Please help your local and fellow residents by spending a few minutes to submit an objection. The community needs your support. Thank you Mike Moulding
