The Fleece Hotel, 9-11 Warrington Rd, Ashton in Makerfield Application - A/15/81175/CU I wish to formally object to the above planning application to convert part of the pub into a nightclub. The proposal is simply ridiculous and inconsiderate and we are only here as a result of my endeavours as if it was up the licensing team this nightclub would already be open. Enough local residents are already making legitimate arguments why this selfish proposal should not go ahead with very legitimate concerns raised. I am not going to elaborate on these as they are so obvious only a clown would think otherwise. However, I want to bring to your attention my concerns regarding the well-being of ghosts that reside at these premises. Now I know the applicant does not live at these premises so it would be wrong of me to refer to her as the landlady but there are some "old wives tales" circulating. The Fleece is a hotspot for paranormal activity. It is said that bar staff have witnessed the ghostly apparition of a man standing on the stage and even sitting at the bar. It is rumoured that Yvonne, the applicant, when locking up for the night, she has to run through the pub when the lights are off as she has a strong feeling she is not alone and is being closely followed. This may explain why it is rumoured she has lengthy absences from the pub and leaves the poor bar tenders to this paranormal activity ? The tale is so ridiculous you couldn't make it up but some people will do anything for money including a crackpot of an idea to have nightclub just a few feet away from residential properties and elderly people trying to enjoy their retirement.
