TWO MORE COMMUNITY BODIES ADD THEIR VOICES FOR SH 46 WEST — AND HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP

An exciting update to share — in just the past week, two more community organizations have formally added their voices to this effort.

The Pipe Creek Community Association — the association representing the community this corridor runs directly through — unanimously adopted a resolution supporting the acceleration of the funded SH 46 West safety project. The PCCA board will be sending the resolution by certified letter to TxDOT's Executive Director, San Antonio District Engineer, and the state legislators serving the area. This one carries a special weight, because it is the voice of the community that lives with this road every day.

And the Bandera Independent School District Board of Trustees also adopted a resolution requesting improvements to the corridor, adding the district's voice on behalf of its students and families.

That brings the total to SIX unanimous resolutions now supporting this effort:

• Bandera County Commissioners Court
• Kendall County Commissioners Court
• Boerne ISD Board of Trustees
• Bandera Electric Cooperative Board of Directors
• Bandera Independent School District Board of Trustees
• Pipe Creek Community Association

Those six resolutions build on formal letters written earlier this summer by the national Motorcycle Safety Foundation and by our own State Representative Wes Virdell, both sent directly to TxDOT's Executive Director urging immediate implementation. Representative Virdell called the improvements "lifesaving interventions."

And there is even more: the Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department — the volunteers who actually respond to the crashes on this road — has committed its full support, and Chief Rory Henrich is preparing his department's own letter to TxDOT.

Six resolutions. Two letters from major voices. First responders standing up. All saying the same thing: complete this life-saving work as quickly as possible.

I respectfully urge TxDOT to do everything within its authority to accelerate the environmental clearance and the construction timeline so that this work reaches the ground sooner rather than later.
