Just when you thought it could't get any worse, now the ACLU Vermont discovers that police are searching the DMV database, leveraging their facial recognition software. Civilian oversight of law enforcement in Vermont has never been more important in the wake of Attorney General Sessions attempts to reignite the "War on Drugs". Meanwhile, the race traffic stop data shows little progress. We must persist in transparency and accountability to ensure legitimacy.
