Why Buhler Industries, Russian Owners, NOT SANCTIONED - Sanction Konstantin Babkin
The Issue
SANCTION- Konstantin Babkin
The War and Agression against Ukraine by Putin, Russia is UNACCEPTABLE.
Firstly I write this on behalf on myself and 1000s of others.
My father's parents escaped the Starvation in Ukraine during the time of Second World War, they received sanctuary and a new life in Canada, in Manitoba. We are grateful for that. We still have family in Ukraine, it is unknown if they are alive or not.
My father who is in his mid eighties now, slowly dying from Cancer, wishes he could go to Ukraine to help fight for FREEDOM.
My father is 1st Generation Canadian. My grandparents were productive citizens in Canada as is my father. He served in the Canadian Navy.
My grave concern and question is, Why has the CEO and other Russian Board of Directors NOT BEING SANCTIONED?
Myself and others are not asking for Buhler Industries Inc to be SANCTIONED but the Russian Nationals who hold key roles in the company be SANCTIONED.
March 21, 2014 there was an article where Ukrainian- Canadian Congress had asked the Federal Government to freeze assets of several Russian Directors of Buhler, was this done or even looked into?
Buhler Industries is 96.7% owned by ROSTSELMASH, a RUSSIAN COMPANY.
CEO / DIRECTOR - YURIY VIKTOROVICH RYAZANOV - is a RUSSIAN NATIONAL, he is also on Federal Council of Babkin's led Action Party.
- OLEG GORBUNOV - A RUSSIAN. Independent Director
- DMITRIY ALEKSANDROVICH UDRAS - RUSSIAN - Chairman
The main owners of ROSTSELMASH - RUSSIAN COMPANY are:
1) KONSTANTIN BABKIN
2) DMITRY UDRAS
3) YURIY RYAZANOV
I am told they are allegedly friendly members of Russian President Putin's, RUSSIA'S PARTY OF ACTION.
Thankfully KONSTANTIN BABKIN RESIGNED as Director of Buhler, March 2022, but he should be held accountable as one of the main owners of ROSTSELMASH.
Please explain to me why the above noted individuals have not been SANCTIONED.
I call on you Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau , Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh to put IMMEDIATE SANCTIONS ON:
SANCTION- KONSTANTIN BABKIN NOW.

From December 2021:
The Russian farm equipment manufacturer which held just over 80 per cent of Canadian tractor and equipment maker Buhler Industries has now taken up near complete ownership.
Winnipeg-based, publicly-traded Buhler Industries announced Wednesday that Combine Factory Rostselmash has bought another 16.3 per cent of Buhler shares for $3 per share, or about $12.25 million.
Buhler, whose own product lines include Versatile tractors, combines, seeding and tillage equipment and Farm King implements, also makes the M8 tractor line for Kubota at its Winnipeg plant.
Rostselmash, which bought its 80 per cent stake in 2007, has picked up the additional shares in a private deal with Highland Park Financial, controlled by Buhler board member and former chair John Buhler, the company said.
The deal raises Rostselmash’s stake from 80.4 per cent up to 96.7 per cent of Buhler Industries, which said Wednesday the Russian firm’s latest purchase was made for “investment purposes.”
Buhler’s TSX-traded stock closed Wednesday at $2.95 per share, its lowest value since February.
Starting as a state-owned factory in 1929, Rostselmash started producing combine harvesters in 1931, went publicly traded in 1992 and was taken private in 2000.

On December 22, 2021, Buhler and Highland Park Financial Inc., which he controls, sold their remaining 16.3 per cent interest in the company for $3.00 per share, or $12.3 million, according to financial statements filed by the company.
Rostselmash — the largest combine manufacturer in Russia — now owns 96.7 per cent of the shares in Buhler. The remaining shares are held by investors via the Toronto Stock Exchange.
March 2022, Toronto Star:
“Russian oligarch and politician Konstantin Babkin, director of Buhler Industries in Manitoba, (since stepped down as Director) said in 2014 that Russia should not stop at Crimea, and, last month, supported Russia’s current actions. Putin insider Roman Abramovich, owner of Evraz, which has operations in Western Canada, is supplying steel to build Russian tanks,” Bezan said. “When will the prime minister finally sanction Russian oligarchs for supporting Putin’s war machine?”
It is hypocracy to not sell Russian Vodka but allow a Russian tractor company to operate untouched while this insanity continues.
March 4, 2022 - The Winnipeg Free Press
"The resignation of Konstantin Babkin from the board of directors of Buhler Industries may have quelled some potential negative fallout for the company during the global outrage at the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
But there are calls from others for the Canadian government to sanction Babkin, who has close ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin, and two other remaining Russian directors of the Winnipeg agricultural equipment company — Dmitriy Udras and Yury Ryazanov — who are all senior officials with the Putin-friendly Action Party (or Party of Action).
Babkin has made recent public comments in support of the recognition of the Ukrainian districts of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent republics and another comment giving tacit endorsement of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Marcus Kolga, a senior fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute who has worked with Russian dissidents for many years, believes Babkin’s resignation does not go far enough.
"You are seeing the same sort of activity happening around the world," he said. "Oligarchs who have foreign assets are either divesting themselves of them, or resigning from various positions to try to insulate themselves from this coming wave. They know sanctions are coming."
Udras and Ryazanov, who are Russian nationals, were on the federal council of the Babkin-led Action Party, according to the party's website.
On Friday, Reid confirmed Udras and Ryazanov have resigned from the leadership of the party but remain as directors of Buhler Industries.
Buhler Industries has confirmed:
That its CEO, Yury Ryazanov, and director Dmitry Udras are no longer on the federal council of the Action Party. Former Buhler director Konstantin Babkin remains leader of the party. The trio are part owners of the conglomerate that owns Buhler Industries. (partyadela.ru)
One of MANY social media comments:
"Konstantin Babkin owns 97% of Buhler Industries. He resigned from the board, but that changes nothing at all. He's currently mobilizing all political and media resources to rally public support for the war against Ukraine. His Youtube channel has been spreading anti-Ukrainian hate propaganda and promoting Russian war criminals (I. Strelkov) for the past 8 years. Canadian government must IMMEDIATELY confiscate Buhler Industries from this Russian warmonger before more of their money is funnelled toward the needless death and suffering of the Ukrainian people."
