As I am writing this, we just breached 2,000 signatures. By the time I publish this, it is very likely that we will be far past that. I am so overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of support from this community and the small business who have gone above and beyond to deserve our support back. So far from what I can gather, product has been pulled from the following businesses: Whole Foods Asheville Greenlife West Village Market French Broad Food Coop Ben's Penny Mart Duncan & York Modern Market Earthfare Hopey & Company Horse + Hero Top of the Monk Ultimate Ice Cream It doesn't seem like you can buy it anywhere in Asheville as of today! I am working on contacting the non-local businesses not a part of this wonderful community to make sure they are aware of this. A few businesses have gone above and beyond and are donating to Our Voice NC, which provides rape crisis services and sexual assault prevention education services to Buncombe County. Orbit Video donated $50 for every leftover bottle of the flash chilled bottles sold (which sold out quickly!) Harvest Records is donating 10% of next week's sales. Battlecat Coffee is donating 10% of tomorrow's sales (if this is running all week, I apologize, this is all I saw!) Firestorm Books & Coffee has been handing out free zines on feminism and anti-oppression work. I am sure there are things I am missing but I am so so proud of the community and what we have achieved in less than 24 hours. You have all shown that this mindset and behavior is unacceptable, and hopefully reached some people who could use a wake up call for themselves. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
