Whatcom + Round-the-Clock Coal Train Traffic = Still Livable?

Whatcom + Round-the-Clock Coal Train Traffic = Still Livable?
The Issue
The current scope of the environmental impact study (EIS) on the Gateway Pacific Terminal proposal to build a coal and bulk facility at Cherry Point does not include the impact of coal train transport though Whatcom County.
The impacts of this unprecedented volume of train traffic, of uncovered coal, on our economy, environment (including health impacts) and the livability of Whatcom County are unknown.
As a community, it is imperative that we understand the impact the Gateway Pacific Terminal will have on our lives and on our children's lives.
Terminal Developers OPPOSE any study of impacts. Decisions are being made NOW and impacts WON’T be considered unless the public demands it.
