Almost a Month, no sign of opening, no sign of recruitment. no plan from Weston Area Health Trust.

Hello all. Thank you for your ongoing support. We, alongside other local groups, continue or fight to have the A&E Department of Weston General Hospital open 24 hours 7 days a week. We met this week with our partners from Protect the NHS, and the Weston-super-Mare Trades Council. At our meeting it was decided that we would organise some events and further protests. Saturday 2nd September, 10am-2-30pm. High Street Save our A&E Campaign Street Stall at the Silica (Carrot), Weston-super-Mare BS23 1SL. Monday September 4th 8.30pm onwards Candlelit Vigil at Weston General Hospital. Marking 2 months since our overnight A&E provision closed We also hope to organise an old fashioned bed push from the Town Centre to Hospital, and a Public Meeting with speakers. Dates will be announced once organised An article this week in the Weston Mercury highlights what we feared, the ambulance coverage for the 10pm to 8am overnght closures is not adequate enogh for our town. Paramedics say that “The ambulance service is a joke.
