I have started this petition to combat online abuse. The level of trolling, bullying and harassment that individuals experience is unacceptable and MUST stop especially within politics. 

I have personally watched family members taking the brunt of this level of targeting and feel strongly that keyboard warriors should not and cannot get away with behaviour online that would be deemed inappropriate in person. 

The daily drip of negative and demeaning comments take their toll on individuals on the receiving end and can have a serious impact on mental health. 

Stronger legislation needs put in place to combat this as right now, anyone can write anything behind a false profile saying and doing whatever they please and there is very little that can be done as it’s hard to trace.
