On Tuesday the 17th of January at 7:00, the APC is likely to vote on the Wood Wind PUD. This PUD will add over 1,000 homes that have between 4-7 bedrooms, impacting our already at capacity schools. If the referendum passes in May, the school tax will be $.50 which is one of the highest in the state. It is time to ask our city leaders to only approve responsible development! Please help by emailing the following with your concerns: Councilmembers@westfield.in.gov, apc@westfield.in.gov, acook@westfield.in.gov, mskelton@westfield.in.gov, jpohlman@westfield.in.gov Very interesting is this proposal was only to be considered if it deed restricted the golf course and guaranteed it would remain. It appears the deed restriction language still does not do that and could allow homes to be built on it after all! Just a little detail that apparently the misguided supporters of this development, including the high school golfers speaking in favor of it at the last meeting were likely in the dark about! DID YOU KNOW THAT: 1. 55% of the home designs proposed for this PUD are already being used in neighborhoods currently under construction? This is in direct violation of the comp plan that states each neighborhood be unique. 2. Pulte has been asked repeatedly by council members, city officials and appointed citizens in round table discussions for weeks, to use higher end designs like they have in Carmel, Fishers, and Zionsville. They have refused to cooperate. 3. There are currently 1,300 lots under construction in the surrounding area at the same price point. This is a 9 YR SUPPLY. 4. This PUD still contains apartments and commercial features at the corner of 146th and Towne. This will be the 7 apartment building in the west side of Westfield and the commercial feature will be more that twice the size of the Kroger at 161st and Springmill!
