Our Accident and Emergency in Altnagelvin is seeing twice the number of patients it was built for, patients are often waiting several days for treatment and staff, who are doing their best, are exhausted.

The Western Trust have approved £26.5m of cuts across services during a period where people already cannot access services, and these cuts will naturally mean people waiting longer for care, less services and even more pressure on our exceptional healthcare staff.

We demand that the cuts approved by the Board be withdrawn, that our A&E get the immediate investment in needs in terms of space, beds and staffing and we demand better for our healthcare staff who only want to provide the best care for their patients.
