The third and final phase of public consultation on the Sligo Greenway is open for public comment on the recommended route for the Sligo Greenway from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)
The recommendation from TII is that the greenway will follow the route of the closed railway. Hurrah. However some people are still trying to stop it from happening!

++++ copy paste below or write your own words
- The closed railway route from Collooney to Charlestown will be the perfect route to place the Sligo Greenway. I full support this route selection
- The route has been closed as a railway for over 50 years and the All Island Railway Strategy has made it clear this is not a route that will be re-opened at any time before 2050, the greenway is the perfect way to protect the route in public ownership
- Closed railway routes make perfect greenways and allow for ease of access for users in particular for families to cycle on and for wheelchair users. This route will connect communities directly for sustainable transport choices
- Use of the route will be under license from Irish Rail which supports the route being used as a greenway.
- Transport Infrastructure Ireland has my full support in selecting this route as the route for the Sligo Greenway. Now please get on with it!
