Over the next week every household  in Ireland will receive two cards from An Post to use for a free of charge letter or postcard to someone you know.  It's a Covid thing.  We are asking all of our supporters to use one of their cards to make a submission on the Draft Mayo County Development Plan 2021/27.  It is simple to do.

1. include the following on the card.

You could make this submission or send them something else asking for a greenway on the route.  here is something you could write on your submission

"Please include a policy convert the closed railway from Claremorris to Charlestown to Greenway  This would be in keeping with the National Greenway Strategy and  in keeping with page 162 of the Regional Planning strategies which names the "Quiet Man Greenway" as  a project underway.

Mayo county council is legally bound to accept the findings of the EY and Jaspers reports as part of RSES RPO 6.11, please recognize this legal requirement in the county plan that there are no plans to re-open the Western Rail Corridor

.......You can say anything you want about the Greenway idea but this is just an idea of what you could say.

Then add your name and postal address (this  is a legal requirement of the submission) and send the submission free of charge thanks to An Post to
