You are one of the near 25,000 people who signed the petition asking for greenway from Athenry to Sligo. Imagine if nearly all of us sent a message to the county council trying to stop what we want to achieve. Imagine the power of one as the power of 20,000. Yes sounds good.
Then please do this one thing copy paste the email below and send it to Mayo county council: don't let their velorail derail our greenway, do it today submissions have to be in by November 21st.

Submission on Kiltimagh Velorail project - Part 8
The Velorail planned for 15km at Kiltimagh using the closed railway has no contingency for people to leave the velorail in an emergency. A parallel pathway is essential for health and safety.
The health and safety path could be also be used as a public path and greenway thus increasing the usage of this public amenity beyond those who can afford or want to pay to use a velorail, providing a free to use local facility
The Sligo Greenway supported by Sligo County Council will terminate at the county border at Bellaghy/Charlestown.
The Quiet Man Greenway supported by Galway County Council will use the closed railway from Athenry to the Mayo county border.
It seems only Mayo county council wants to deny the huge tourism potential of a greenway from Athenry to Collooney.
The Velorail project needs to facilitate a greenway alongside the closed railway for the reasons of health and safety, tourism potential and free local access to the community, please listen to what people are saying about this project.
