The day the Spoilers sabotaged the Quiet Man Greenway

If the Quiet Man Greenway (The Galway section of the Western Rail Trail) means anything to you and will influence how you vote on Friday, then please read this and think how you are going to cast your vote.

On September 24th 2018 a motion supporting the Quiet Man Greenway was put to Galway county council, the motion was pretty simple;  it asked the council to support the request for funding of a feasibility study for a greenway on the closed railway.  It passed.

But........ following this motion being passed a second motion sank the chances of the Quiet Man Greenway getting funding under the  National Greenway Strategy.  This second motion effectively replaced the first motion and took the focus off the Quiet Man Greenway.

It has become known as THE QUIET MAN SPOILER MOTION.

The councillors who pulled a stroke by supporting the second spoiler motion knew exactly what they were doing.  Some of those councillors are not standing at the election on Friday so they have been excluded from this list, they won't be on the ballot paper:

But…. the ones who let us down last September who are standing for re-election, what shall you do about them?   If you are committed to The Quiet Man Greenway, why not quietly remove them from your list of voting options.

Do you want to allow the spoilers back into Galway council?

The councillors listed above actively plotted to destroy the chances of the Quiet Man Greenway in Galway county Council last September 2018?  We won't let them stop a movement of thousands of people.

It’s up to you. Talk to the other candidates and find out their stance there are some great people who support the Quiet Man Greenway they deserve your support.

By the way Sinn Fein party policy opposes the greenway on the closed railway, so don’t be fooled by anything you hear.

Don’t let the spoilers do it again by making sure they are not there again

Keep them off your preference list and whatever you do, please vote it was a long fought for right!
