Galway is one of our key battlegrounds in the local elections. We really need greenway supporters to stay alert.  One of the big issues in the Galway coco elections in particular in Tuam/Athenry  is identifying candidates who are spoofing about supporting the greenway and those who are genuine.  Back in September 2018 there was a crucial vote in Galway coco asking for support for a feasibility study for a greenway on the closed railway, the Galway section of the Western Rail Trail is called The Quiet Man Greenway.   Talk about political shenanigans!  The vote was about to take place when the anti Greenway brigade threw a wobbler into the motion with a counter motion; the counter motion was designed to scupper the Western Rail Trail/Quiet Man Greenway.  DON'T EVER FORGET THAT!

The nameS of the councillors who supported this spoiler motion is now critical, because a vote for anyone of them is a vote for an anti greenway candidate, over the next few days we will be focussing on the Galway coco spoilers, the members of  Galway coco standing again that tried as hard as they could to throw a spanner in the works ,,,,,lest they forget.... we haven't.,,,,,We never will, time to be rid.
