Firstly a massive thank you. We are getting towards 9,000 signatures. Quite a few of you have boosted the petition making sure it gets seen by as many as possible. A huge thank you for that support. Are we been listened to? Yes to a certain extent and no also. In Sligo, The Sligo Greenway co-op is doing great work in co-operation with the council to achieve the greenway on the Sligo section of the closed railway, it is someway off but in the system so progress is being made. In Mayo the local group the Kiltimagh Greenway Group are making their voice heard to Mayo county council and the 4 TDs in Mayo who oppose the greenway. In Galway in the Athenry Tuam area there is palpable anger that the Greenway is being blocked by the idea of more reports on the closed railway which is being pushed by the local anti greenway TD Sean Canney. We need the greenway option to be considered as part of this report, but we feel this may be blocked by those politicians that want to block the greenway from happening. We'd like the petition to hit the landmark of 10,000 maybe even double that and take it further forward. 10,000 people signing a petition in the West of Ireland, is a big chunk of voters and we need to make sure all our politicians are aware of the force that we are. An election will happen sooner or later and we need to focus on who is with us and who is against us. So keep recruiting others, keep sharing and keep up the pressure anyway you can. Thanks Brendan
