Many thanks for the continued and growing support for our campaign, remember keep sharing and asking others to sign, if we all bring in one recruit this week we can double our numbers in seven days! Anyway here is news for you all; we are all “misguided” All 6,400 of us!!!! On February 12th a Western People editorial described our campaign as “misguided”; the Newspaper editor seems to be living in some kind of time warped dreamworld in which he still believes the Germans are going to pay for a train line from Athenry to Collooney. This is what the Western People said about our greenway idea in the editorial last week “ It will, at best, create a small number of jobs in the tourism sector, but the damage it will do - both directly and indirectly - would be immense.” Clearly the editor of the Western People has not seen what is happening in Waterford, where the Waterford Greenway has reinvented tourism and is oblivious to what is happening on his own doorstep in Westport with the Great Western Greenway.
