To celebrate this landmark and in view of the National Development Plan being launched in Sligo at the end of this week, we are asking ALL 4000 signatures of this petition to send a simple email to government. It has been widely reported in the press this week that the Western Rail Corridor is not going to be extended. Along with over 4,000 others who have signed the petition for a greenway on the closed railway route I fully accept this decision, but ask that you and your cabinet colleagues delay no further and approve a greenway on the closed railway. No more reports, no more studies. The railway is not going to be built let’s do something useful with the route.
