A critical part of our greenway campaign is focused on East Mayo and the need for a greenway on the section of closed railway near Kiltimagh. It is proposed to put a "velo-rail" on about 6km of the Western Rail Trail Route on the closed railway section that runs through Kiltimagh. To ensure we have a greenway the whole way from Sligo to Athenry we need to persuade Mayo county council to agree to a greenway alongside the section of the closed railway that will be used for the velorail project. We have 852 signatures on the Kiltimagh petition - you may have already signed it. We are now asking all signature supporters of the western rail trail to also sign the Kiltimagh Greenway Petition and ask others to do the same. Thanks if you can.
