A DEBATE ON DIVESTMENT WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT THE NEXT FULL COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING ON 12 December. That means we need as many emails as possible to county councillors ahead of the meeting. We have to make it clear that the people of west Sussex do not want their pensions enabling genocide. It takes 5 minutes using this link. The public can attend. It will take place at County Hall Chichester at 10.30am (but be there for 10.15). The debate has been triggered by a petition of nearly 3,300 West Sussex residents, brought by WS-Divest! the local West Sussex divestment campaign. At 10.30am, just before the debate, a spokesperson for WS-Divest will address the WSCC for 5 minutes laying out our case and our demands. EVERYONE is welcome into the public gallery but you'll probably have to leave placards at the door. There will be a demo afterwards on the steps of County Hall from around 11-30 to 12.30pm. Hopefully we will catch councillors as they come out to lunch.
