Morris Joseph, Jr. and Rufus Joseph have been removed to alternative school from West Orange-Stark High School after being accused of committing a crime while on Spring Break in Galveston, Texas despite the fact that the boys have stated that they are innocent.  The school has cited Rule 37 of the Texas Education Code as its reason for their removal.

 
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to ALLOW THESE STUDENTS TO RETURN TO SCHOOL AND COMPLETE THE LAST WEEKS OF THEIR SENIOR YEAR WITH THEIR PEERS.  THESE YOUNG MEN HAVE BEEN UPSTANDING STUDENTS, CITIZENS AND ATHLETES.  THEIR PRESENCE AT THE SCHOOL POSES NO THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF THE STUDENTS, FACULTY OR EDUCATIONAL PROCESS. BECAUSE THE SCHOOL IS WELL AWARE THAT THEY ARE NOT A THREAT, THE SCHOOL SHOULD NOT TAKE IT UPON ITSELF PUNISH THESE YOUNG MEN WHEN THESE MOMENTS CAN NEVER BE REPLACED AND BEFORE THEY HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST THESE ACCUSATIONS.
