To all our amazing supporters We’ve been having some problems with a couple of people commenting on posts online who are saying that Ivy is property of the tax payer and that tax payers shouldn’t have to foot the bill for something they’ve paid for (Ivy) to be just given away to Dad. We would just like to clarify to everyone that as per the West Mercia Police website, they "estimate" the cost of purchasing and training a police dog to be in the region of £24,000, as recently reported by the BBC. Dad made an offer to his police bosses to raise "whatever" amount they required, and although West Mercia didn't name their price at the time, it was made absolutely clear to West Mercia that Dad would raise "whatever" amount necessary. Unfortunately for Ivy and Dad, West Mercia Police made no subsequent effort whatsoever to take dad up on his offer, and have still not done so!! They’ve literally ignored Dad on this!! Dad doesn’t like the thought of people thinking he hasn’t offered to raise the money to buy Ivy, because he absolutely has… Thank you again to everybody for your support and understanding throughout this emotional journey so far.
