McGowan Government Lifts Moratorium, Allows Fracking

Yesterday at 1.00pm the government announced its decision to lift the moratorium as they believed the inquiry report into the process of fracking had suggested the risks were low enough to convince them there was not much to be concerned about.

5,100,000 hectares are now open for fracking.  

The Mid West, Pilbara and Kimberly communities have been left exposed to an industry that is reckless and has very little accountability to outside regulations.

Ironically, despite promising the practice was sort of safe, the McGowan government kept a full ban on fracking across the Peel, South West, Perth regions and added the Dampier Peninsula.

This decision is unequivocally providing safety for some of us and excluding the rest of us.  How is this a fair decision?

We wake to this unspoilt view each morning from the front of our home here in Eneabba. I thought I'd share a little rainbow of hope in the storm.
