We want our pavements back.

The Issue

Citizens, dog walkers, elderly, disabled and vulnerable people, children walking home from school, all remain at risk of serious injury from Cyclists, E-Bikes and E-Scooters on public footways and parks.

To ensure Pedestrians have a safe route of passage, the UK government must abolish shared footways and protect the pedestrian from cyclists and e-scooters/e-bikes, as many of them ride without due care for others.

Also the government and local authorities must place cycle lanes roadside, and not on the inside of the footway, we pedestrians cannot be used as human shields for the benefit of cyclists, place them nearer to the road, not us pedestrians.

There need to be safety barriers to protect pedestrians where cycle lanes intersect with our footways. We also need safety barriers between the cycle lane and pavement to shield pedestrians from the cyclists speeding past, this would help prevent and reduce the risk of pedestrian injury.

Just keep your cyclists separated and away from us, and put your cycle lanes elsewhere and stop e-bikes/e-scooters from travelling on the pavement, and perhaps even ban this mode of transport altogether. Also get your cyclists to study the Highway Code and the Road Traffic Act 1988, which a large percentage of riders seem to breach on a daily basis.

Because the UK does not have a peaceful approach to cycling like our European counterparts in Amsterdam, then it's best to keep the cyclist roadside.
