Pebbles, a sweet senior dog beloved by her family, brought joy and warmth into their lives every single day. Gentle and loving, she was more than just a pet; she was a family member.

Heartbreakingly, Pebbles was viciously mauled and killed by a neighbor’s vicious dog that was allowed to roam freely and unsupervised. Despite the emotional and financial burden placed upon Pebbles’ family, the neighbors have not taken responsibility or offered to cover Pebbles’ veterinary bills and the city of Paxton, IL. refuses to do anything, except write more citations, that never get paid or taken seriously. 

This tragedy highlights a serious issue of irresponsible pet ownership and neglect. Dogs that are left to run at large pose a threat not only to other pets but also to the community as a whole. Every pet owner has a duty to ensure their animals are controlled and safe. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the neighbors have allowed their dogs to run at large; they continue to breed animals and let them roam freely, causing distress among the local community, not to mention that these poor animals are suffering.  They search the streets for food.  They are skin and bones, matted, and sickly.  They are not spayed or neutered, and keep procreating, causing more and more suffering.  

The irresponsible owners of these dogs need to be held accountable!  We are demanding it

We urge the local authorities and animal control to conduct a thorough investigation into this particular case of animal attack, as well as the wider issue of potential animal abuse and neglect on the neighbors' property. It is essential that all animals are removed from their care to prevent further tragedies. 

Justice for Pebbles means creating a safe and responsible community where neighbors can live without fear, helping the rest of the animals in the irresponsible owners' possession, and reimbursing Pebbles' owner for the veterinary bills she accrued trying to save her best friend.
