New Petition Announcement: Let's vote on mass surveillance, Woodstock!

Attention Woodstock Voters!
We've started collecting signatures for a new petition to put a referendum question on the April 2027 ballot.
It's actually two questions:
- Should the City of Woodstock discontinue its use of networked automated license plate reader systems (ALPRs) and thereafter be barred from procuring or contracting for the same?
- Should the City of Woodstock discontinue its use of networked and artificial intelligence-based surveillance camera systems and thereafter be barred from procuring or contracting for the same?
This one is limited to registered voters who are Woodstock residents. All signatures must be collected in-person. We will be announcing when and where we will be collecting signatures, so keep an eye on the website (https://stopflockinwoodstock.org) for that information. Even if you are not in Woodstock, you can still help us with this effort by sharing with friends and family who live in Woodstock.
Note that this is a non-binding referendum, which means the city is not required to act on the results, but let's make them answer to the voters.
(We're going to keep the original petition up and periodically update the city with the new figures. We are currently at over 2,300 signatures!)
