On August 9, 2024, we will mark the twenty-third anniversary of the Sbarro massacre.
Ahead of that date, my wife and I have prepared or dispatched op-ed articles and letters in multiple directions. We continue to be active in the social media as well, particularly via X (formerly Twitter).
Earlier today, I posted this self-explanatory letter on X [https://x.com/arnoldroth/status/1818953504624369891
Of course feel free to share either the X link or the text below.
Thank you.
Dear @SecBlinken, @StateDeptSpox Miller, @StateDeputySpox Patel, @UnderSecStateP Bass:
- Three Americans were among those murdered in a terror attack for which Jordanian @FBIMostWanted fugitive #AhlamTamimi has faced charges since 2013.
- The @StateDept has for years ignored all efforts urging it to press Jordan into compliance with its bilateral treaty obligation, an obligation that started in 1995 and that @StateDept says explicitly remains valid and in force.
- You and your predecessors in office have for years ignored my wife and me who are the parents of an American child blown to pieces at 15 by Tamimi's bomb. You have looked away and played deaf when we have sought responses.
- Tamimi herself, a brazen agent of Hamas, doesn't deny her key role. She brags about it to Arabic-speaking audiences.
- None of the statements above is contested by anyone - except for the part about the treaty. Jordan, and no one else, says the treaty is invalid. Jordan blames the invalidity on its own failure, but that's misleading too.
- The @Sbarro massacre anniversary is a week away. I make this appeal to you now:
- Speak with my wife and me. For once, be open and honest about how the @StateDept has for years preferred to see this Jordanian savage left alone, not arrested, not extradited to Washington, not brought to US justice.
- @StateDept fecklessness, no less than the Jordanians, is why Tamimi remains free, influential and toxic.
- Americans are entitled to know this. Justice demands an end to the quiet obstructiveness and the shameful silence.
