UPDATE: Over 1,100 Signatures and Counting
We want everyone to know that our voices are finally being heard, even though for 20 long years our calls for change have fallen on deaf ears.
Our united petition is now backed by over 1,100 signatures this ”reflects the deep frustration of a fire department that has been left fighting for survival while our county commissioners consistently prioritize library funding over the safety and well-being of our community.
For too long, our requests for better support, fair funding, and accountability have been dismissed, ignored, and even met with intimidation.
We are the people on the front lines ”working as one team to save lives ” and yet these heroes are not being supported as they should be.
We have serious questions about why elected officials in the county commission seem to care more about balancing budgets for libraries than ensuring that the fire department, which saves lives every day, receives the resources it desperately needs.
Though a few voices on the commission board have shown support, the majority have continued to disregard our pleas.
We, the people ”those who aren’t celebrated as heroes but who work tirelessly to protect our neighbors ”are determined to break free from a system that has long abused and controlled us.
It’s time to overcome the income and power imbalances imposed by our current system.
We call on “everyone” to stand with us, to demand accountability, and to insist on a reallocation of funds that truly reflects our communities needs.
Our fight is for a safer future”one where every life is valued more than a line in a budget.
Join us and keep spreading the word until real change is achieved.
Share with 5 People outside of our state, and keep the “Fire of Hope” alive.
