Malapit na ang pasukan! As classes begin in most schools across the Philippines on June 8, 2026, we celebrate a historic milestone: the nationwide implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum, including the core subject "Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Kulturang Pilipino" in Grade 11.

For this reason, we will soon be declaring victory on this Change.org petition.

Yet while this campaign has achieved its primary goal, the work is not over. The successful implementation of Philippine History in Senior High School will require quality learning resources, teacher training opportunities, support, research, and continued collaboration among educators, historians, schools, and government institutions. We encourage scholars, organizations, and concerned citizens to support this next phase of the journey.

We are also pleased to announce that the High School Philippine History Movement has formally become the Philippine History Movement, following a decision of its Board of Trustees on January 10, 2026, during its Annual Board Meeting. With Philippine History now restored in Senior High School, our advocacy naturally expands toward strengthening Philippine History education across all levels of the educational system.

There are also important concerns ahead that we intend to discuss and engage with, including ongoing reforms to the General Education curriculum in higher education. Our advocacy for Philippine History education, therefore, continues beyond this petition.

Finally, we emphasize that this victory does not belong to the petition or our movement alone. The restoration of Philippine History in high school was made possible through the collective efforts of educators, historians, government officials, academic institutions, organizations, students, and citizens who believed in the importance of Philippine History education.

This milestone belongs to all of you. To everyone who signed, shared, supported, and advocated alongside us: thank you.

We celebrate this milestone today. Tomorrow, we continue the work.

The fight for Philippine History education continues.
