The Issue

Wishaw & Curdworth are both historic rural villages, are places close to our hearts – an area acclaimed for its rich agricultural green belt land. This valued land, which encompasses 305 Acres across Wishaw & Curdworth, sits radiantly, acting as the lungs of our community and a haven for local wildlife. Nevertheless, there lies a threat – IM Properties plans to uproot this priceless green space, substituting it with massive autonomous warehousing units.

Despite their intentions, these warehouses won't benefit the local community. The allure of employment opportunities, ordinarily associated with such development, is rendered obsolete due to the autonomous nature of these units. This situation thus creates a disheartening prospect where we lose our irreplaceable green belt, and in return receive buildings that do not offer substantial employment or utilitarian value to our community.

Ancient, beautiful, and tranquil, Wishaw's green belt land is not simply an empty space on a planning map to be filled. It acts as the lifeblood of our village, supporting biodiversity, enhancing air quality, and representing our agricultural heritage. We cannot permit our natural heritage to be lost to cold, unfeeling autonomy.

We humbly appeal to the authorities involved - consider the broader implications of this project, not just immediate economic gains. I invite every individual who understands the importance of preserving our cultural and environmental identity to join me in urging the authorities to shun these damaging plans.
